Retelling||How Maui Found His Mother

Long ago, The Goddess Taranga, Maui’s mother, bore Maui prematurely and thought him still born. Maui was wrapped with long smooth black hair, Taranga took him to the seashore, calling Tangaroa the god of the sea, to take her son with great care and Tangaroa did algo with the wave children, and Hine-Noana helping Maui bore him on their backs, Tawhiri the wind cooled him. The god of the sea took Maui and swept Maui algo the cost. Tama-nui-ke-te-rangi, Maui’s uncle unwrapped the long smooth black hair from Maui. Tama-nai-ke-te-rangi didn’t know that Maui was his nephew. But deep down something in Tama heart made him take Maui home and raise him as his own son.Maui knew a lot of things, Rangi and Papa and Rupe the wood pigeon and many more. As Maui grew up, he staered wondering where his mum was. He asked Tama where she was, he said “far far away”. Maui wanted to leave his childhood and go look for his mother Taranga. And he did, many months and miles of searching, Maui had finally found the Pa he had left long long ago.
