Long ago, The Goddess Taranga, Maui’s mother, bore Maui prematurely and thought him still born. Maui was wrapped with long smooth black hair, Taranga took him to the seashore, calling Tangaroa the god of the sea, to take her son with great care and Tangaroa did algo with the wave children, and Hine-Noana helping Maui bore him on their backs, Tawhiri the wind cooled him. The god of the sea took Maui and swept Maui algo the cost. Tama-nui-ke-te-rangi, Maui’s uncle unwrapped the long smooth black hair from Maui. Tama-nai-ke-te-rangi didn’t know that Maui was his nephew. But deep down something in Tama heart made him take Maui home and raise him as his own son.Maui knew a lot of things, Rangi and Papa and Rupe the wood pigeon and many more. As Maui grew up, he staered wondering where his mum was. He asked Tama where she was, he said “far far away”. Maui wanted to leave his childhood and go look for his mother Taranga. And he did, many months and miles of searching, Maui had finally found the Pa he had left long long ago.

Should Girls Play Rugby
Drenna Falaniko
First can I please see a show of hands on who thinks girls should play rugby…….. and another show of hands on who thinks girls should not play rugby…….
Today i'm going to be talking to you about my point of view why girls should play rugby, my opinion about rugby is that we need girls to play so that we can have more all girls teams. I would like to have a all girls teams to be more noticed because girls do have the skills to play the game.
There is no reason why girls can't play, its just peoples opinions that stop girls from playing. Girls who have a passion for such a rough sport should be able to play the game. The game isn’t just for boys, it’s a game for everyone.
One reason why girls should play rugby is that they can get a career out of it. Did you see the 7s women's win the Olympics, well i mean came second. All those girls probably played in a all boys team and stacked with it and became a professional player. That’s pretty cool.
Girls can be as strong and as fast as boys are at playing rugby. Rugby can be dangerous to girls, but it can also be dangerous to boys as well.
Girls and boys can play anything they want, for example boys can play netball so girls can play rugby. Just because girls are a different gender to boys doesn't mean they have a less of a chance to play.
I believe that it shouldn't be a problem for a girl to play rugby because most likely there's a girl somewhere that is much better than the boys. But we'll never know unless we give all of the girls the same chance as the boys.
I myself play rugby and would encourage more girls to play, because it’s a really fun sport and you can let all your stress and anger out on other people.
So in conclusion, girls have the right to play rugby - it’s not a sport just for boys, it is a sport for everyone.
Girls can do anything they want!

Term 2 Writing
This term we have been looking at ways to make our writing more interesting for the reader.
We have used the following criteria to guide us:
- Changing the word order of a sentence
- Using literary devices such as metaphor, simile, alliteration, onomatopoeia and personification
- Using specific verbs and adjectives
- Using show, don’t tell techniques
- Using different sentence beginnings and lengths
Here are some examples of my writing this term.
Show Don’t Tell - Emotions
Sad: Skip and Hop. As I was walking along the beach with a big smile on my face, eating my chocolate ice-cream. Skip and Ahhhhh!!!!I fall, my chocolate ice-cream was covered with sand, and my face was covered with sadness.
Excited:My stomach was filled with excitement. I put my ABS stickers on, also I put my ABS flag in my bag. Finally I put my engaged and excited self in the car, BRUMM the engine starts going, Just like that we escaped with excitement.
Angry: As soon as I heard the news that my dog haddied my heart was split open, tears were dripping down my frowned face.
Writing to Music
Flip, turn as the ninjas try and get to the top of the mountain, where the king was. Tip toe as they run up the the rocks. Jump and flip as they get to the top of the mountain. Tip toe tip toe as they walk quietly to the king. It started getting more intense, grades were everywhere. But the ninjas were there to do a job. Ughh!! One of the ninjas CAME OUT of nowhere with a knife in there hand.
To Be Continued……
The Boy
I thumped the gate open. As I took one sad slowly step a tears drops down. Ugh!! Why does death have to exist, life will be more happier funnier and more less crying. Bustar was my dog, well more than that, we were best friends, Every day we will go for walks and play fun games. But then it came to this sad, herat broken day, HE’S GONE!!!. What am I going to do now. My life is going to be miserable.
Viking Girl
“NO!! MUM I DON’T WANNA WEAR THIS” Honey this is the only thing I could find” replied mum. Amy got so angry she had big black bags under her eyes, she was grabbing and pulling her hair as she was yelling and screaming at her mum. Then she finally had enough and STOMPED all the way to her room and SLAMMED the door with a big bright red face.

X Country Time
X Country Time
This is my X Country Times.
Each day our class runs around the school and see what time we get in 10m.
On the link it shows the days and the time that I got and if I ran it or walked it or if I did both.

Survivor Moment
Survivor Moment
My tummy started to growl.
There was no food in the tent
and it was 12 O'clock at night
I peeked my head out the tent,
and saw Ash-lee’s face!
I looked around.
No parents,
no teachers
but girls eating peaches.
I slowly run to Ash-lee’s tent,
and by slowly
I meant like a big fat elephant
stomping as loud as I could
in the middle of the night.
So the big elephant,
which was me,
dived and landed on someone,
but who cares,
but who cares,
I just wanted food.

A Day To Remember
A Day To Remember

Walking down to the river,
Was hot,
I felt like I was in a boiling steaming pot
Walking with Ash-Lee was fun,
We talked heaps about the sun
Crossing the roads was hard,
We stopped Waikanae traffic,
And they panicked
We got to the spot,
And my shoes were in a knot
Eating some food,
Was good,
But wasn't in the mood,
For goodies
Getting in the water was freezing,
People were teasing,
Cause I was screaming
Splashing my friends was funny,
They were screaming,
Like little screaming lamas
Sun bathing was with my friends,
Was fun,
We laughed and screamed,
And wished we could do it again
Walking back to school was a bit slow,
But we still glowed out to the public

It was a quiet day, until I finally decided to take my TV upstairs, well I wish it was mine but my brother Darren just has to ruin everything and make us share the TV. The TV was our old TV it used to be in the living room, until we decided to upgrade it and get a smart TV. Mum and Darren used their muscles to bring the television to my room - I do have muscles but I didn't want to show off to everyone (you know what I mean). As soon as the TV got into my room , Darren and I began to change everything around, my bed, tables, clothes on the floor and one of my drawers. An hour later we finished tidying up, we turned on the TV and spent the whole day in my room and watched YouTube videos and listened to music.
